TC3 Leads Men's Soccer All-MSAC Selections
DRYDEN, N.Y. – The Mid-State Athletic Conference (MSAC) men's soccer all conference team includes six TC3 student-athletes, the most from any college. Sophomores Fernando Casanova (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic), Kyle Clapper (Dryden H.S./Dryden), Zachary Johnson (East Syracuse-Minoa H.S./East Syracuse), Brandon Casterline (Cortland H.S./Cortland), and Chris Driscoll (Southern Cayuga H.S./Aurora) were joined by freshman Matt Doran (Marathon H.S./Marathon) on the 20-player team. Voting for the all-conference awards is done by the coaches from the six MSAC soccer programs. Broome Community College placed four on the team, followed by three each from Finger Lakes Community College and Cayuga Community College. Corning Community College and Jefferson Community College each had two selections. Driscoll was the second leading vote getter in the conference. He led TC3 with 33 points on 14 goals and five assists. He finished the regular season among the top 25 scorers in the nation. Casanova, last year's conference player of the year, finished 2008's regular season second on the team in scoring. His 23 points on eight goals and seven assists this year gave him 41 points on 15 goals and 11 assists for his career. Clapper and Johnson are also repeat selections to the all-conference team. Casterline and Doran each made the team for the first time, giving the Panthers the most selections for the second consecutive year.
